Q120DFN in plain terms: Two electronic functions share this Siemens 20A branch breaker: combination arc-fault sensing and Class A, 5 mA ground-fault detection. The final “N” identifies the plug-on-neutral QFGA2N construction, an important fit detail for loadcenters designed with a compatible neutral rail.
Both models place arc-fault and ground-fault functions in one device, but their neutral connections are not the same. Q120DFN connects to an approved plug-on-neutral rail; Q120DF uses a factory pigtail. Choose by the panel label and required connection, not by the shared 20A handle rating.
Confirm that the Siemens loadcenter directory accepts Type QFGA2N and that the circuit is 120V, single pole, and 20A. Also verify the required interrupt rating and conductor information on the breaker and equipment labels. A breaker that physically enters a bus position is not necessarily an approved match. Have a qualified person make the final selection and installation.
