HOM2175SB is a surge protective device, not a branch-circuit breaker. Square D designed this Type 1 Surgebreaker for compatible Homeline loadcenters and CSEDs on 120/240V, single-phase, three-wire systems. It plugs directly onto the equipment bus and has a 25 kA surge-current rating.
The 25 kA value describes surge-current capacity; it is not a 25,000A branch-breaker handle rating, normal load current, or a universal short-circuit rating. This device reduces transient voltage passed downstream but does not guarantee that connected equipment can never be damaged.
Confirm the exact Homeline equipment accepts HOM2175SB, the service is 120/240V single-phase three-wire, the mounting positions are available, and the installation meets grounding, bonding, and code requirements. Check the LED after energizing and follow Square D replacement guidance if status is lost. A qualified person should install service-panel surge protection.
There is a $15 charge for delivery. Additional charges will be imposed by our couriers for delivery to remote areas, a surcharge may be levied to cover carriage to these areas.
